Break has been fairly stagnantly Poolesvillian, I can't wait to get back to school and classes.

There are some high points though! Chris and I took the motorcycle out to the Peace Park at the Buddhist temple and went hiking around in the rain with Cory/Derek/Julia(Then froze our asses off riding home in said rain. No gloves=bad call). People leave the strangest stuff at the stupas, like grape soda, chapstick, and little stone penguins:D It's really peaceful and nice though, in the middle of a larger decidious forest than you might think possible for this area.

Later, went to a Caps game with DP and Simon...pretty much awesome except for the fucking cows behind us. They were SCREAMING in our ears the whole game and complete cumguzzling cockwenches when we told them to shut the hell up. I almost wish we'd seen them after the game and had the chance to smack them around a bit, I've never felt so compelled to punch a fat chick.
Feet coming home on metro...I'm the tiny ones on the left, Chris is the striped monstrous ones to the right;)

Got through my first Howard Xmas party in quite a long time that I actually enjoyed! We brought all the guys, and my cousin Bonnie's fiancee Joe was there, so we had a respectable number of people around the same age range to hang out with rather than awkward cheek-pinching conversation with aunts and whatnot. It also helped that my mom got tipsy enough that she didn't mind me drinking hard lemonade... now I know why my relatives all drink LOADS of wine at parties, family is much more enjoyable when you're a bit drunk.
I had a really nice Thanksgiving, I need to do the planning/cooking more often, I get way more into it:)

Other than that though, I cried loads today between watching Rent and listening to the most depressing Fort Minor song ever.

"Where'd You Go?"

Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.

She said "Some days I feel like shit,
Some days I wanna quit, and just be normal for a bit,"
I don't understand why you have to always be gone,
I get along but the trips always feel so long,
And, I find myself trying to stay by the phone,
'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone,
But I feel like an idiot, workin' my day around the call,
But when I pick up I don't have much to say,
So, I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?"

I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...

You know the place where you used to live,
Used to barbecue up burgers and ribs,
Used to have a little party every Halloween with candy by the pile,
But now, you only stop by every once and a while,
Shit, I find myself just fillin' my time,
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind,
I'm doin' fine, I plan to keep it that way,
You can call me if you find that you have something to say,
And I'll tell you, I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', at times debatin',
Tellin' you that I've had it with you and your career,
Me and the rest of the family here singing "Where'd you go?"

I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...

I want you to know it's a little fucked up,
That I'm stuck here waitin', no longer debatin',
Tired of sittin' and hatin' and makin' these excuses,
For why you're not around, and feeling so useless,
It seems one thing has been true all along,
You don't really know what you've got 'til it's gone,
I guess I've had it with you and your career,
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it...

Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone.
Where'd you go?
I miss you so,
Seems like it's been forever,
That you've been gone,
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...
Please come back home...

I revamped a beret that I knit junior year and neverever wore! It took forever to make (tiny yarn on tiny circulars, complete hell) and then turned out fairly unwearable, hello dissapointing:( It was too big and droopy, and just sort of oddly-shaped...it made my head look like a mushroom.

TODAY though, I got help measuring my forehead and used plastic canvas (that plastic mesh that old ladies make really ugly ornaments and things out of) to form a banana-shaped bill, then sewed it under the edge of the hat. I love it so much now!

Excuse the silly face!

I think that ghosts like the cooler weather. When leaves turn color they get together and walk along these old back roads, where no one lives and where no one goes. With all their hopes set on the railway that never came so no one stayed. I guess that autumn gets you remembering and the smallest things just make you cry.
Autumn's Here.

So when I was home this weekend, I found this little book I used to write things in now and then when I felt like it. Not stories or poems sort of things, but just whatever happened to be on my mind. This bit entertains me because every one of the things I mention is still true, but I don't let any of them bother me nearly so much as when I originally wrote it. I think that's a good sign.

Things I hate:
-skeevy people standing in big flocks on the sidewalk
-the way mint tea never tastes as good as it smells like it ought to
-how all my nails break at once and my my fingers look stumpy and weird
-that dry leg thing that happens when jeans meet winter
-how short girls never fail to make me feel like some gangling elephant
-when people refuse to talk about their problems and just sit around and mope
-how much I have to keep from my parents just to keep a semblance of normalcy- how much are they keeping from me?
-how bad things happen to good people but it's still their fault, so then maybe they aren't actually good people?
-little kids who wear hot topic and can't comprehend how awful they look
-how surprised everyone gets when I wear a skirt or dress, like I'm some big butch the rest of the time

Another strange thing, written in the margins:
I WANT TO BE THE KID WITH AN ACCENT IN A CROWD OF PEOPLE WITH ACCENTS

Oh, and I got new specs. I like them a lot:)

The true adventures of living with two preppy bitches: Take 1.
Things I Have Learned

When a PB is about to say something horribly bitchy and demeaning about a friend, she will always pre-empt it with "Oh I love her to death, but..."
Ex. "I love Shay to death, but shes a little skank and she had no right to drink my Jaeger!"
"I love her to death, but if Mandy brings that New York boy along, I'm going to scream. I mean, he's a sweetheart but
he thinks he's sooo cool and he's um, NOT."
If two PBs are drunk, the drunker one will inevitably be the one who decides where they go.
Ex. "Oh.My.God. I just got this fake ID from Michigan that's expired but I think we can get in anyway if I straighten my
hair!"
"Ummm no, see we're going to The View [apartment living, off campus] to party with the 8 guys in the hallway."
"But we were gonna go to the bar!"
"Well NOW *stumble* we're going to the VIEW"
"Ughh ok fine."

Unexpectedly nice day! I was afraid it was going to be a day of sitting around/not packing like I ought to, but I ended up going to DC with Sara. I havn't seen that girl all summer, so it was great to catch up.
Went to the Hirschorn to see the tape floor and search for the naked man (the elusive old fuck, never did find him), then headed to Bethesda to go to the Mustard Seed and Mongolian Barbeque. I got this sweet secretary shirt and way more earrings than I need, and happy mongolian stirfry. Why is it, I wonder, that every person other than me can cook tofu perfectly? It's amazing everywhere I go but it's a soggy mess in my own kitchen:P

I'm looking forward to going to school in large part to be directly on the metro line to more interesting places than where I am currently stuck;)
